Founder of the year (2)

The Founder of the Year celebrates excellence in entrepreneurship within a digital and technology-based enterprise, recognising Australia’s leading digital founder. Demonstrating a true entrepreneurial spirit with vision and excellent execution, this founder and their organisation is creating impact and legacy.

Eligibility Criteria

 The person eligible for this award must:

  • Identify as She/Her, She/They, or They/Them

  • Reside in Australia

  • Be a current founder or co-founder
    The organisation has been trading for a minimum of two years

  • Be actively involved in their organisation and retain a level of ownership

Assessment Criteria

 What we are looking for in the entry:

  • Clear and concise communication of what the business does - give us your elevator pitch!
  • Demonstrated entrepreneurship - we are interested in seeing success in starting and expanding an innovative or disruptive business
  • Demonstrated capacity to lead teams within a growing business
  • Success at commercialising an idea - supported by growth metrics demonstrating that success, i.e. business performance success, any revenue or profitability figures, growth and innovation
  • Innovative use of technology within the business
  • Demonstrated resilience and grit in the face of challenges
  • Concise yet sufficiently detailed answers
  • Commitment to continuous professional development and an appetite for learning
  • Active involvement in the digital community

Tip: When responding to questions, please provide as many numerical measures as possible - quantifying your success will help contextualise your submission for the industry judges.

  10. What key success metrics or growth indicators can you share about your business? (250 words)

  11. What were the major challenges you encountered while launching and scaling your business, and how did you overcome them? (250 words)

  12. What drives you as a leader? How do you stay competitive and what are your business goals for the next 3-5 years? (200 words)

  13. Please provide a link or testimonial that highlights your contributions to the tech industry.
